Your Body Wants to Lose Weight


Why Your Attempts to Lose Weight and Get Healthy Have Failed

Most health plans out there will involve long or intense exercise, cutting calories, and putting all of your energy and focus into weight loss.

 

The problem with doing that is that this puts our both our bodies and minds under high levels of stress that make it almost impossible to lose the weight that our body wants to get rid of.

 

See, our body uses an adaptation process called allostasis to achieve and maintain balance within its environment.

 

This process is represented by the "stress cup" (pictured above).

 

As you experience different types of stress in your life, your cup will begin to fill up.

 

As a mechanism to adapt to this stress, your body will use allostasis to bring itself back into balance.

 

If you go to the gym and lift heavy weights, your muscles will increase in size to adapt.

 

If you go for a long run, your cardiovascular fitness will improve to adapt.

 

And if you exercise and eat right, your body will lose weight to adapt.. right?

 

Well, not exactly.


Failing to Adapt


There are cases where our body will fail to adapt.

 

For many of us, our bodies and minds are overloaded every day from every direction with different types of stress.

 

Work stress, poor sleep and bad diet are all examples of this type of stress.

 

Allowing this buildup can cause our "stress cup" to overflow, overloading the body's ability to maintain balance.

 

Once we have lost this ability, we express this overload as a broken metabolism and poor health, making it almost impossible to lose weight, even with exercise and a strict diet.

There Has to Be a Better Way

Our coaching questions everything we think we know about weight loss and health.

 

Rather than focus on strict diets and intense workouts, we put our focus and energy into both growing and emptying our stress cup, allowing our body to not only naturally shed fat more quickly, but also to reverse any pesky health conditions that we are experiencing.

 

We also put a large portion of our focus into creating a healthy relationship with food, and making sure that the results we see while we are together last a lifetime.

 

Even if you're extremely busy and have a minimum amount of free time each day, not only will our program work, but you'll also be able to sustain your results past our time working together.

What To Expect


Our 12-week program consists of four phases meant to help you shed weight, increase energy, and take control of your physical and mental health.

Phase I: Mindset

If you try to make a shift in your lifestyle without the right mindset in place, you may find success for the first few weeks, but eventually there's a huge chance that you'll crash, burn, and find yourself right back where you started.

 

In Phase I of our program, you will go through a deep mindset training. This is meant to help prepare you for the upcoming weeks, and ensure that the results you see will last.

 

Things may come up throughout this program and failures may occur, but because of getting your mindset right before making any other changes, you'll be able to make health a long-term lifestyle rather than seeing short-term results before burning out.

Phase II: Stress Reduction

If you are in a state of high stress, you will not be able to make level-headed decisions about your health.

 

In this phase of the program, we take steps to make small shifts in your daily schedule that will relieve a massive amount of stress from your life.

 

Once in this state, you will be able to think more clearly, feel emotionally better, and take the steps necessary to address your physical health.

Phase III: Sleep

Getting a higher quality of sleep reduces stress, boosts energy, improves multiple health markers, and increases weight loss.

 

But the unfortunate truth is that most health plans out there completely neglect sleep, and leave a large amount of results on the table because of it.

 

In Phase III of this program, we will work on building momentum in your health by optimizing your circadian rhythm and your sleeping habits.

 

Because of how we spend our days, a majority of us are setting ourselves up for a lower quality of sleep. Even if you spend a full 8 hours asleep every night, you still may be spending a large portion of the night in a lighter level of sleep, missing out on many of the restorative benefits of a deeper sleep.

 

Our program seamlessly integrates a sleep plan that will leave you fully rested each night and waking up ready for each day, all while reaping the benefits of deep sleep.

Phase IV: Nutrition

Repeat after me: This is not a diet. This is a lifestyle.

 

Unless you're trying to become a professional bodybuilder and cut back to 6% body fat, if done right, healthy eating can be another easily-integrated, stress-free part of your life that you enjoy.

 

Phase IV is the longest part of the group coaching program, and it doesn't focus on counting calories or intense/restrictive diets. Instead, this phase focuses on the small shifts that you can make in your life that will give you massive results in your health, while also still being able to enjoy the foods that you eat on a daily basis. And most importantly, it keeps healthy eating sustainable.

 

This phase also helps you deal with your food cravings by diving into the deeper reasons you overeat, and your gut health so you can overcome your impulses and choose the foods that are best for your body and mind.

 

Even if you love food as much as I do, you'll still be excited and prepared to finish strong with this phase of the program.

Phase V: Re-Introducing Movement

For the majority of our time together we actually won't be emphasizing movement. The crazy thing is that if our stress cups are full, movement can actually hurt our weight loss progress. Once we have adequately increased the size of our stress cups and emptied them, then we will reintroduce movement into the program.

 

Optimizing your daily movement will increase your metabolism, release feel-good endorphins, and improve energy and focus, along with countless other benefits.

 

Once in this phase of the program, we will develop a movement schedule that is not only time-efficient and easy to maintain, but one that also will leave you with massive results.

 

Daily movement doesn't have to be hours at the gym each day leaving you sore and exhausted, and if done right, will help you shed weight while being an enjoyable addition to your day that you don't want to miss.
